The challenge

Most AI tool directories are bloated affiliate farms or thin, stale lists. TryThings needed to feel curated and trustworthy, with discovery that worked the way modern users actually expect — instant search, fuzzy matching, related tools — while staying maintainable for a single operator.

Our approach

We built TryThings as a curated directory with search that handles typos and surfaces related tools, plus an admin panel so updating a tool takes seconds. We also built Donna, an AI agent that keeps the site fresh, runs the news terminal, and writes per-tool content updates automatically. One operator can stay focused on curation instead of busywork.

The outcome

A directory that runs itself. Donna handles the news terminal refresh, the per-tool tweet cycle, and the feed pipeline without human input. Curation stays human; the busywork is hers.
